HIGHLIGHTS

-Gorilla trekking in either Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
-Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (home to more than half of the remaining rare and critically endangered populations of mountain gorillas, with an elevation of 1160-2607 meters above sea level. The park is also home to about 300 species of birds.)
-Mgahinga Gorilla National Park (situated in the extreme southwest corner of Uganda on the slopes of Virunga Mountains, covering 27 square miles)

 
ITINERARY

Day 1: Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Park
What we’ll be doing today: Drive to Bwindi through Isasha looking for tree-climbing lions, subject to time of arrival at Entebbe or Kigali Airport. Note: Gorilla trekking starting points are either at Buhoma,Ruhija, Rushaga or Nkuringo, which are separated by a long meandering road. Our overnight stay will be determined by the location of the gorilla permits available at the time of booking.
Where we’ll be sleeping:
Budget: Wagtail Safari Camp, Bakiga Lodge or Commpunity Camp Ground (FB)
Luxury: Gorilla Safari Lodge, Buhoma Lodge or Gorilla Mist Lodge (FB)

Day 2: Go Gorilla Trekking
What we’ll be doing today: Attend a gorilla trekking briefing at 8:00am and then proceed to trek a designated family of gorillas. Note: The time taken to trek the gorillas various enormously, from as little as half an hour to as much as 8 hours before one returns to the lodge. The activity can be physically draining hiking up the mountain through valleys and hills, but finally seeing gorillas can be rewarding and worth the effort. Please consult with your physician before signing up for this excursion.
Where we’ll be sleeping:
Budget: Wagtail Safari Camp, Bakiga Lodge or Commpunity Camp Ground (FB)
Luxury: Gorilla Safari Lodge, Buhoma Lodge or Gorilla Mist Lodge (FB)

Day 3: Transfer for Return Flight
What we’ll be doing today: After breakfast, go on a leisurely drive back to your airport – Entebbe or Kigali airport. Please note that your flight through Entebbe must be after 18:00 or 6:00pm.

ACCOMMODATION
Our packages are based on a accommodations in a B&B (bed and breakfast) whether you decide on either the budget or luxury lodging. However, if you want full board (with breakfast, lunch and dinner), a supplemental fee of $20 will be added per person for all budget accommodations, and a supplemental fee of $40 will be added per person for all luxury accommodations. This fee would be added on top of the nightly cost of the hotel accommodation.
