HIGHLIGHTS

-Lake Bunyonyi (a beautiful crater lake that’s a kilometer deep and Bilharzia-free. It’s located among hills not far from the chilly town of Kabale)
-Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (a famous gorilla-trekking destination, home to birds beckoning tourists from all over the world)
-Queen Elizabeth N. Park (north of Bwindi and home to many magnificent animals. Tourists come to East Africa with the clear intent to see them here. The following are of particular interest: the climbing lions at its southern end, the lively water birds, and early morning game drives/lunch cruises on the Kazinga Channel)

 
ITINERARY

Day 1: On arrival at Entebbe Airport and transfer to Kampala City.
Where we’ll be sleeping:
-Budget: Namirembe Guest House (B&B) – simple and clean with self-contained rooms
-Luxury: Cassia Lodge (B&B)

Day 2: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
What we’ll be doing today: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale for spectacular sight seeing.
Where we’ll be sleeping:
-Mid-Range/Budget: Natures Prime Island/Overland Camp
-Luxury: Birdsnest At Bunyonyi Resort

Day 3: Lake Bunyonyi
What we’ll be doing today: Optional activities–canoeing, swimming, nature walks, birdwatching, visit the local communities via boat trips to islands. (Did you know? Lake Bunyonyi is the second deepest lake in Africa, free from Bilhazia and a stunning narrow stretch of water with tiny islands overlooked by volcanoes in Uganda.)
Where we’ll be sleeping:
-Budget: Natures Prime Island/Overland.
-Luxury: Birdsnest At Bunyonyi Resort

Day 4: Travel to Bwindi Forest Park
What we’ll be doing today: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest through Ishasha sector looking out for the tree-climbing lions. (Kindly note that gorilla-tracking starting points are either at Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, or Nkuringo, which are separated by a long meandering road/route. Our overnight stay will be determined by the location of the gorilla permits that are available at the time of booking.)
Where we’ll be sleeping:
-Mid-range/Budget: Wagtail Safari Camp/Bakiga Lodge/Community Camp Ground (FB)
-Luxury: Gorilla Safari Lodge/Buhoma Lodge/Gorilla Mist lodge (FB)

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking
What we’ll be doing today: Gorilla briefing at 8:00 am and start gorilla tracking. The time needed to track the gorillas varies enormously, from as little as half an hour to 8 hours before one returns to the lodge.
Where we’ll be sleeping:
-Mid-range/Budget: Wagatail Safari Camp/Bakiga Lodge/Community Camp Ground (FB)
-Luxury: Gorilla Safari Lodge/Buhoma Lodge/Gorilla Mist lodge (FB)

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park
What we’ll be doing today: Drive to Queen Elizerbeth National Park.
Where we’ll be sleeping:
-Budget: Simba Safari Lodge (B&B)
-Luxury: Kyambura Game Lodge (B&B)

Day 7: Game Drive & Boat/Lunch Cruise
What we’ll be doing today: Early morning game drives. Afternoon lunch/boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. Marvel at brilliant migratory birds, a unique combination of wild hippos, elephants, buffalos.
Where we’ll be sleeping:
-Budget: Simba Safari Lodge (B&B)
-Luxury: Kyambura Game Lodge (B&B)

Day 8: Travel to Kampala
What we’ll be doing today: Drive to Kampala. If time permits, drive through Lake Mburo (2 hours) for viewing zebras and impalas. Arrive in the city late afternoon and transfer to Entebbe airport for your flight. For those who may want to board that day, their return flight must be after 19:00 or 7:00pm.

 

ACCOMMODATION
Our packages are based on a accommodations in a B&B (bed and breakfast) whether you decide on either the budget or luxury lodging. However, if you want full board (with breakfast, lunch and dinner), a supplemental fee of $20 will be added per person for all budget accommodations, and a supplemental fee of $40 will be added per person for all luxury accommodations. This fee would be added on top of the nightly cost of the hotel accommodation.

- Accommodations with meals mentioned on itinerary
- Water, 2 litres per person per day on the van
- 4×4 custom built safari open-roof vehicle with gas (Toyota, Hiace Van, or similar) with knowledgeable and English-speaking driver/guide

- International flights
- Visa for Uganda and/or Rwanda
- Gorilla trek permit/pass
- All optional activities mentioned on itinerary
